Year of Projects 2022: Week 38

More sock things this week included finishing up sock #1 of the Brighton socks. I’m really enjoying working these up in West Yorkshire Spinners 4-ply with it’s nice smooth twist and vibrant colors. I have cast on for sock #2 and I’m about halfway through the leg, so I want to focus on these and try to get the pair finished up this week. I also cast on for Earthtones Girl’s fall sock KAL with a plain vanilla pair using a deep stash skein of Fiber Stash Dyeworks Twinkle Toes sock yarn in the colorway Hayride, which I think has perfect fall colors in it.

I have finished up Terrain, but I will save that for a separate FO post this upcoming week. I have a shawl project I’ll be starting next weekend, but I’m also thinking about casting on for a sweater as well. I have a short-sleeved one in mind which doesn’t exactly fulfill the fall vibes I’ve got going right now but it may be what I begin since the yarn is wound and I’m apparently having decision paralysis right now for new projects.

I’m also still working away on the singles for my handspun project, with nothing new really to show. I’d like to get the singles done this week if possible and then I could get it plied and finished by the end of the month.

I did reach a nice milestone on my Desert Mandala this week, however. I finished up the outermost border so that is completely finished! I am going to work on the interior diamond border today and then see if I can start the feather and cacti that surround the corner nature scene next.

Have a great week YOP’ers!

  1. The Brighton sock is great. It’s too pretty to be hidden under pant legs. The Earthtone socks scream fall. So pretty and plain vanilla really makes those colors shine. Your mandala is just breath taking. One of these days we will get to see it in it’s entirety.
