Knitting

WIP Wednesday: December 1, 2021

I have a couple of non-YOP projects I’m working on right now to share for WIP Wednesday today.

I’ve gotten back to work on the Stella (Ravelry link) preview knit I was working on a month or so ago, now that I’ve finished other deadline knitting. This one wasn’t on a specific deadline but the pattern has released and I did want to get it done as it’s one I think I will wear a lot when it’s finished. I’m knitting this using Hudson & West Co’s Forge worsted weight in the colorway Dusk. I have the back completed now, and one of the sleeves is done, so I’m working on the front now. It’s got a really fun crossed stitch/woven look pattern on it, and the color is one of my favorites.

I also started Helen Stewart’s Dust of Snow stole (Ravelry link) today. I decided I’d like to use my miniskein Advent box from Suburban Stitcher and I’m going to try to knit one section/one mini per day as I open the packages. This design uses sock yarn held with a strand of laceweight, and I have several undyed skeins of mohair/silk hanging out in my dye room that I’ll use for the project. Dianne tends to dye fairly soft subtle colors and I think the frosting of the natural colored laceweight will be a nice addition to those. Here’s day 1 and I love the dark black current colorway that is kicking off the month! I likely will have a fair amount of the mini skein leftover so I’m thinking I will either make a couple of striped cowls and/or add to my blanket square collection as well.
