A mixed bag of things I’m working on this week, although I’m happy to report I’ve finished a few projects up as well.
I finished my Frostwork scarf, but will have an FO update on that for Friday since it’s currently blocking out in our early morning sunshine. I also will have a finished skein of handspun to share which will complete an 8-oz spin I’ve been working on. Just a few days left in the Tour de Fleece and I’m hoping to get through a bit more spinning before it’s over and then continue on with my 15 minutes a day whenever possible.
Otherwise, I am working on the Foss Sweater. This is an easygoing knit with a large ribbing pattern. I’ve knit through the first 7″ or so of the body. I am casually working on this when I need a fairly easy project that doesn’t require a lot of concentration. I’m in love with the beautiful overdyed natural brown Finn and CVM wool from Woodsong Farm. I think it really shines in this kind of basic pattern.

I also cast on a new pair of socks (pattern is the Wild Bees Socks by Helen Stewart) for The Woolly Thistle’s Sock Sprint that runs for 2 weeks, and started Friday, July 9. I’m using a new-to-me yarn, Signature 4-ply from West Yorkshire Spinners in the colorway Cardamom. It’s a yellow-y green and I am enjoying the crisp hand (it has 35% blue-faced Leicester wool in it) and it really shows off the stitch pattern. I made good use of my time in the truck while we drove to and from Colorado this weekend and knit all of sock #1.

My DH is out of town on business travel and then will spend the weekend on the east coast visiting his mum, so I plan to try to get a fair amount of things worked on over the weekend here solo. I’ve got sock #2 cast on, and I want to get a couple of blanket squares for my Birlinn blanket done for a few Harry Potter group challenges. More spinning on deck as well!
