This week, I’ve been and will be mainly focusing on 2 large-ish shawl projects. One of them is a sekret design knit so no info on that until it releases but I’ve also been focusing on my Holyrood shawl, designed by Justyna Lorkowska (Ravelry link). I’m knitting this using Suburban Stitcher Sock in “Starstruck” and Wooly Wonka Fibers Rhiannon Sock in “Blackberries”. It looks like a big pile of knit right now. There are loads of stitches on the needles and it’s really hard to get a good picture, but! the end is in sight. I’ve got 1 more row of the mistake stitch ribbing and then I’m on to the chevron stripes for the border. My plan is to get this off the needles and blocked this week.
The other items on the go (as active WIPs right now although they aren’t very active while I try to get these 2 shawls done) include:
- My Da Crofter’s Kep hat. You saw current progress in my Fair Isle Friday post last week. I’ve done 4 more rounds so nothing much to see there. I want to try to get through half of the crown decreases this week since I’m at the starding point of those.
- My plain vanilla striped socks. No progress on these beyond finding a suitable red sock yarn to insert for the heels, so I’d like to get the heel added into the tube on sock #1.
I do need to put in some time on my In Stillness Cardi. I’d like to have the raglan increases done by month’s end and divide for body and sleeves. I also would like to make some progress on the second sleeve of Bronwyn. I’ve gotten through the ribbing and I’m ready to start the main/cabled portions of that one. Those are both longer-term goals so we’ll see how much time getting the shawls done consumes.
